"I have never had a strong opinion either way of Governor Abbott or members of his office; however, what is currently being proposed in Austin has me thinking differently. There would be a myriad of reasons for Gov. Abbot to call a special session to support public education in Texas, but Gov. Abbott has called a special session to, in my opinion, do great harm to Texas public schools...." To read the full article, please follow this link www.vernonisd.org and scroll down.

On Wednesday, VMS students in the Gifted & Talented program took a field trip to Wichita Falls. The group started at Region 9, where they learned about the art of Yayoi Kusama and practiced her art style. They ate lunch at the park and then went to the River Bend Nature Center where they explored a riparian ecosystem with a "down by the river" experience.
