As part of their study of New Zealand, students in Coach Stinson's classes were divided into groups to choreograph and perform a Haka dance. A Haka is a traditional Maori dance involving vigorous rhythmic movements, stamping, chanting, and facial expressions. A Haka can be performed for various events, such as welcoming visitors, inspiring warriors, a wedding, a funeral, and other important occasions.

Due to the potential for rain, storms and severe weather this evening, the VHS Powderpuff Football game has been canceled.

Due to the high percentage for rain Wednesday morning, the decision has been made to move the Vernon All-Star Olympics to the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon. We are so thankful for the Boys & Girls Club offering to host our event in their two gyms. We would love to fill the stands in the gym with fans cheering on our all-star athletes. Tyson Foods will also be running a concession stand, with all proceeds going to the Vernon All-Star Olympics program.

Tomorrow night it's the girls' turn to hit the Leo Brittain Field for their annual VHS Powderpuff Football Night. The freshmen girls will face the sophomore girls, and the junior girls will square off against the senior girls in the semifinals, with the winners of those games moving on to the VHS Powderpuff Championship Game.

Due to field conditions following the 2 inches of rain we have received over the last two nights, and with more expected tonight and chances tomorrow, the decision has been made to move the Lions' final baseball game of the season to City View. Senior Recognition ceremonies will NOT take place tomorrow night and will be rescheduled.
