Ty received the honor for his work last week in Vernon's 28-14 victory over Iowa Park, as well as for the season, as he has over 1,700 yards of total offense heading into the regular-season finale this week. Earlier this month, our Chemistry students began their unit covering the Periodic Table by researching how it is organized. Students then used their research to build their own personal periodic table over something they are interested in, or are passionate about.

Our Lions are hosting Iowa Park in a football game here Friday night, but there's alot going on before, in the middle, and after the game. Check out the graphic below. So...plan to come early and stay late to cheer on and support all of our VISD students!!

Students our life skills class were busy this week painting pumpkins for Halloween. They all did a great job!

How long can cardboard boats float? That's one of the things students in Ms. Dixon's Math Models classes will find out Tuesday when they will put their cardboard boat projects in the water for their Boat Day Races. The action will begin at 1 p.m., in the Vernon College Pool.

Friday night's football game is our "Pink Out" game for breast cancer awareness. The Lions Spirit Pep Rally also has the "Pink Out" theme. The VHS Cheerleaders are extending a special invitation to all breast cancer survivors, those battling the disease right now, and family members of those who have been lost to breast cancer to attend the pep rally where they will be recognized. Friday's pep rally will begin at 3:25 p.m.

In Government classes, seniors are completing the process of learning the 27 amendments and the Roman Numerals as well. Yesterday, students worked on "Shaving Away" at the amendments. Great way to have fun in the classroom, keep students active and involved, and make learning fun.
