Vernon ISD Supt. Dr. Kermit Ward started his first, first day of school with Vernon ISD at McCord Elementary where he found some friends to join him for a first-day photo. Dr. Ward visited each school campus today, walking the hallways, talking to students and teachers, and either went into, or peeped in on each class. All campuses reported a relatively smooth first day of school, which is a great way to start this great 2023-24 school year!!
A big THANK YOU to C&N Flowers and Cindy Henderson for delivering this beautiful bouquet of roses to the Administrative Center this morning wishing Vernon ISD a great 2023-24 school year. This type of community support will help make it a great school year. Thanks again!

Vernon ISD is involved in the PowerPak Program, which meets the needs of children who are food insecure by providing them with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends and school holidays when other resources are not available. Consistent access to healthy food is important for children to be their best selves. If you would like your student(s) to receive food packs throughout the year, please reach out to Nicole Cameron, District Social Worker, at (940) 553-1900 ext. 2248 or at nicole.cameron@visdtx.org. You will be provided a parent permission form to sign and return. We cannot provide your student(s) with a food pack unless you have returned the parent permission form back.
