
More scholarship recipients honored during the VHS Class of 2023 Scholarship Banquet.











Forty-five Vernon High School seniors were recognized during the Vernon High School Class of 2023 Scholarship Banquet, which was held Monday night in the VHS Cafeteria. Those 45 seniors received at total of 132 scholarships.

The Senior Pep Rally was held this morning in D.O. Fulton Gym for the VHS Class of 2023, as graduation festivities are underway this last week of school.











All VISD students who will be 7th, 9th, or 11th graders next year AND participate in any sports program, along with band, are required by UIL to under a sports physical. Also, any student-athlete who suffered a severe injury this current year is also required to have a sports physical. Mark your calendar and take advantage of this great opportunity provided by the Wilbarger General Hospital Medical Group.

The Santa Rosa Roundup parade kicked off rodeo festivities Wednesday afternoon and VISD was well represented, as many students and staff members participated in the parade.











Vernon HIgh School will have a new principal when the 2023-24 school year begins, and stepping into that position will be Cynthia Jackson, who is currently the principal at the Clarksville Middle High School. All varsity athletes were recognized and several sports handed out special awards. The Vernon Athletic Booster Club Lion Scholarship was presented to Dane Kieschnick, while the Lady Lion Scholarship was presented to Kristina Urista and the Benny Guzman Memorial Scholarship was presented to Beau Gearld.
