Earlier this month our Vernon Middle School students competed in the District 7-3A Junior High Literary Meet held at the City View Elementary/Middle School.
Students in each grade did a great job, and VMS finished in fourth place in the district team standings. Holliday won the meet, followed by Iowa Park, Vernon and City View. We had 18 students in each grade level place in their events. VMS took first place in three events in the 7th Grade Division and four events in the 8th Grade Division.
VMS 8th grader Aislyn Williams claimed first place in both Social Studies and Spelling, while Avril Avitia was first in Modern Oratory and Maritza Ornelas took first in Music Memory.
