A huge THANK YOU to our sponsors — your support makes a big difference. When a community works with and supports its schools, both grow stronger together. 🦁❤️
And a big shout-out to all who signed up — our scramble is officially FULL! We’re excited for a great day of golf, fellowship, and cooler temperatures (especially after last year when Vernon made the record books as the hottest spot in the USA 🔥☀️). See ya Saturday morning for donuts, coffee and juice before we tee off at 8:30 a.m.
Go LIONS! 🦁

Vernon ISD put the finishing touches on what I would call a great convocation last week, and I led off that ceremony with the statement “there is no greater time in my career than now to be a teacher.” The world is still lacking in the respect that needs to be demonstrated to teachers and the job that they do; however, it is comforting and a step in the right direction when the Legislature determines it is time for the teachers to be awarded a raise.....

Parents/Guardians, please remain in your vehicle during drop-off and pick-up times. If you need to get out of the vehicle, please park in a designated parking space and walk to the gate to drop off or wait on your student at pick-up. When dropping off your student in the morning, please make sure your student has their backpack on and are ready to get out of the car as soon as you stop so staff can assist them out of the vehicle. The drop-off process will go faster and smoother for all by having them ready to go. At pick-up time, staying in your vehicle and making sure your student's car tag is in visible sight for staff will speed up the process immensely.

ALSO, our Pre-K students do not eat breakfast right when they arrive. Instead, our Pre-K classes enjoy breakfast together a bit later. This helps create a calm, relaxed atmosphere where we can give them extra help and attention.
Thank you for your help in keeping us on track and getting our days started off in the right direction.

Vernon ISD is kicking off year two of our Dudes on Duty volunteer program — and we need your help to spread the word!
We’re looking for dads, husbands, grandfathers, uncles, church friends, and other positive male role models to spend time with our students during morning drop-off and lunch/recess. Just showing up, engaging with students, and offering a friendly presence can make a huge difference in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
All campuses are participating — and whether or not they have kids in our district, all men are welcome — however, they must be an APPROVED VOLUNTEER!
📝 VISD Volunteer application found here: https://bit.ly/VISDVolunteerApplication
✅ If you know of an already approved volunteer, here are the links for each campus with available dates and areas to serve:
